A village barber was then sent for, who inoistcupped the swelling ; almost immediately after this the symptoms of strangulation set in. Seeing him getting worse, his friends brought him to hospital. On admission, the right inguinal canal was found to be occupied by a tense swelling which protruded through the external abdominal ring and reached the scrotum.
